8th July 2004

1. I decided to have a go at the Trick of the Light story title. I hadn't written anything for ages and I was surprisingly pleased with the result. It'll be put up tomorrow so please let me know what you think. I really liked all three of the other stories. I hope some more people have had a go.

2. Belle and Sebastian's Stay Cool is too cool for words.

3. Visual Basic is doing my nut this week. It's like a circular maze. I'm out of maze practise badly. Hmmm lets hope I can deliver what I said I would.

4. My word, all the people in my new office are literati. This should be a chance to demonstrate my ignorance to astonishing levels. Fantata.

5. We were the only two single men going to this wedding in August. But now my best mate has just told me that his ex-Kiwi porn star girlfriend will be over from Oz for it. I am now a lone wolf sans wingman.

6. Todays musings are taking a while it must be said, not that I have a lack of anything to say. I'm trying to build a pop up calendar and reminder system in MSAccess. If I'm having this much trouble building a calendar, how much effort is a time machine likely to be?

7. I've changed the ending to my Trick of the Light. The first one just didn't work.

8. Apparently a brother of some guy my sister works with stabbed himself to death on saturday night. It's not until you write all this stuff down that you realise how many terrible things happen around you without you ever knowing about them. They say you are never more than 3 metres from a rat, I say that you're never 3 minutes away from someone who's gonna die in the next 3 weeks. Nobody work out the real stat please, I'd rather not know.

9. Apparently we are going powerboat racing in Brighton on saturday and mud-buggying in the afternoon. I must admit I've always wanted to go in a powerboat. Why don't they make tanks bigger btw? I guess they would sink in the mud. Sorry boys moment. If any Brighton regulars go out on a friday, apparenltly I will be in the Smugglers? I haven't been to Brighton for about ten years. Anyone know a Dave Pribelzski?

10. It's thursday and I'm going home to miserably wet Wales. The words DVD and a bottle of wine, seem to be calling me.

Evening folks.
